Gear doesn’t make the DJ, but it can make you do more things live. But to do more, you have to know more about DJing and music itself too.

I love gear, and I have to keep telling myself not to get hung up on equipment and to keep studying the fundamentals instead.

$$$ spent on gear almost always would be better spent on learning about the next level of proficiencies, even if you’re not a beginner anymore (but yes I’d pay good money for a course on how to finally get over GAS).
